About This Image
Sitting at the Northern edge of Slovenia, butting up against the Austrian border, the valley of Robanov Kot remains unspoiled, balancing traditional farming with wildlife preservation and eco tourism. In this composition I wanted to convey the initial prominence of the barn – quickly dwarfed by the mountainous backdrop – as well as the degree of tree coverage that remains on the slopes, in stark contrast to more deforested areas just across the border.
Producing Your Print
This print is produced using premium Hahnemuhle Photorag Pearl 320gsmĀ – a 100% cotton paper with a slightly textured pearl finish. I find this slight lustre works brilliantly for landscape photography, adding contrast and enhancing the sense of depth in the final print. I fine-tuned the final image specifically for this paper before printing, using a colour-managed process. All prints use Epson Ultrachome Pro pigment inks that result in vivid, true-to-life colors and worry-free fade resistance and longevity.
