The largest member of the of the volcanic Canary Islands archipelago, home to Mount Teide National Park. Coastal and desert environments fuse with the rugged, volcanic terrain to create dramatic rock formations, while the 3,715m peak of Teide itself dominates the skyline.
Think of Spain and you may think first of Madrid and its hot interior weather, yet the North-Western region of Galicia, with its rugged coastlines and Atlantic climate offers a glimpse of a more wild country beyond the cities.
Scotland has been a strong influence on my photography, as the Scottish Highlands were where I first began to rediscover and explore landscape photography. While the landscape further South in England is less rugged, its national parks have lots to offer in terms of wildlife.
Washington could well be the most impactful state that I’ve visited - on my US tour I captured more ‘keeper’ images here than any other. From the imposing peaks of the Cascade mountains to its lush valleys, Washington is bound to leave an impression.
From its dry, dusty interior, through its lush forests and on to the coast, Oregon is a special corner of the world for landscape photography.
Towering redwoods, the open road, Big Sur and the West coast. Not many states can boast of such an impressive collection of diverse landscapes.
